LUTHERAN SERVICES FLORIDA RECEIVES $15,000 GRANT FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SARASOTA COUNTY TO SUPPORT HEALTHCARE WORKFORCE PATHWAYS

Sarasota, FL – Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is honored to announce that the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded a $15,000 Community Impact Grant to support LSF’s Healing, Hope & Healthcare Initiative, a program designed to strengthen South Florida’s nursing workforce by empowering individuals to pursue meaningful careers in healthcare.

The grant will directly fund Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and certification, enabling participants to gain the skills, credentials and confidence needed to secure stable employment and fill critical vacancies within the regional healthcare workforce. These opportunities promote financial independence, support stronger families and contribute to healthier communities.

“This collaboration highlights the power of partnership,” said Ivis Triana, Program Director for LSF’s Healing, Hope & Healthcare. “With the Foundation’s support, skilled professionals can rebuild their careers while filling a vital regional need. Many bring experience, resilience and a deep commitment to service. With training and support, they become strong contributors to our healthcare system and our community.”

By offering this program, LSF proudly expands its existing footprint in Southwest Florida, where the organization currently operates residential shelters, foster care and adoption, case management, community counseling and a shelter for unaccompanied minors.

This partnership demonstrates the commitment of both LSF and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to ensuring vulnerable community members have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.
