Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) provides hundreds of immigrants and refugees the resources and support they need to face the hardships in life. In response, $10,000 was gratefully funded for our Refugee services program in Tampa provided by the Immigration and Refugee Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The Community Foundation supports helpful organizations around the community and establishes a powerful connection to philanthropy.
With this generous donation from the Community Foundation, Abduarzak Kedir can find new housing and employment. Abdu is faced with the hardship of being blind, and he is having a difficult time in finding a job. By the end of November, all his financial resources will be gone, and his disability insurance will not cover all his expenses. During this rough time, Abdu is in critical need of finances to help secure his future.
Thanks to the grant from the Community Foundation, Abdu is now able to cover his housing expenses and an additional three months of rent. In addition, this gives Abdu enough time to secure employment opportunities. Now, Abdu can prepare for his future due to the generosity of the Community Foundation and services provided by LSF.
