Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is a non-profit organization, transforming lives by ensuring safe children, strong families and vibrant communities. Founded in 1982, LSF currently touches the lives of 1 in 50 Floridians every year through various programs, including early education, youth shelters, foster care, refugee and resettlement services, substance abuse mental health services, and adult guardianship. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, LSF has more than 60 programs throughout Florida and approximately 1,200 dedicated employees.
During National PTSD Awareness Month and beyond, let us strive to promote understanding, empathy, and support for those affected by PTSD. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a compassionate society that fosters healing and resilience.
At LSF, we are pleased to honor our employees and recognize them for their hard work and continued effort to embody our mission, vision and values. Through our Heroes and High Fives program, employees can nominate other employees to receive a special award, honoring them for their hard work on furthering the LSF culture.
Protecting children is not just a moral imperative, it is a legal and ethical obligation. We must take action to prevent child abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and to hold accountable those who harm children.
In honor of International Read to Me Day, we want to highlight the benefits of reading out loud to young children. Here are 10 successes that come from being read out loud to as a child during early development.
We serve a variety of clients from a variety of backgrounds. Treating them all with dignity regardless of circumstances is key to serving them in a way that meet their needs.
