Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is a non-profit organization, transforming lives by ensuring safe children, strong families and vibrant communities. Founded in 1982, LSF currently touches the lives of 1 in 50 Floridians every year through various programs, including early education, youth shelters, foster care, refugee and resettlement services, substance abuse mental health services, and adult guardianship. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, LSF has more than 60 programs throughout Florida and approximately 1,200 dedicated employees.
On Tuesday, April 27th, LSF, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church of Juno Beach and community committee members are joining to celebrate the success of the ‘Beauty is a Silent Teacher’ campaign with a check presentation. Achieving its capital campaign goal will help revitalize a 36-year-old youth shelter in Broward County.
LSF is incredibly fortunate to have Eliana in our Manatee County Case Management Organization. She brings a wealth of knowledge in social services and child abuse prevention. She’s held a wide range of positions from a Health and Human Services Advisor in the Office of Latino Affairs, Community Schools Coordinator at the Latin American Youth Center in D.C. to working in specialized programs for children who were exposed to violence.
We are pleased to welcome Renee Morrissette, a graduating member of the LSF Health Systems Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) training program who is now working with our Training Institute as a Success Specialist.
While voting has ended, the results of this election are now in the hands of state and local officials charged with counting and certifying the vote tally.
At this time, I ask you to join me in praying for those shouldering this responsibility.
Children & Families
On this #NationalAdoptionMonth, we celebrate the 4,548 children in Florida who were adopted during fiscal year 2019-2020. Approximately 700 children are still waiting to meet their forever family.
