Sarasota, Fla. – 7/27/18 –Local Guardian and staff member of Lutheran Services Florida Sarasota
Guardianship Program, Taquisha Joyner-Stokes was recently named a “Shining Star” at the Public
Guardianship Awards Reception held at the Florida State Guardianship Conference in Orlando.

The reception was hosted by the Office of Public & Professional Guardians and the Foundation for Indigent
Guardianship and recognizes guardians who exhibit exceptional leadership & knowledge in the field of
guardianship and social services, and a willingness to go above and beyond to provide for the care of their
clients.

Colleagues nominated Taquisha because “she is an ongoing inspiration and mentor to those she works with
and is an asset to the LSF Guardianship Program and to the community.” Taquisha has been with Lutheran
Services since 2015 and is a certified as a Professional Guardian by the State of Florida.

“Taquisha deserves this recognition and so much more for her dedication to the disabled population in our
area,” Kathleen Houseweart, Executive Director of Sarasota Guardianship Program said. “This award is a
testament to her skill, character and passion.”
