Who We Are
LSF Health Systems is one of seven behavioral health Managing Entities (ME) contracted by the Florida Department of Children and Families to manage the state-funded system of behavioral health care for people who face poverty and are without insurance. LSF Health Systems serves a 23-county region in Northeast and North Central Florida. Our providers care for people who face the most vulnerable situations and do not have insurance. This includes children, adults, and families who lack the financial resources to afford care. Our goal is to ensure that every child and adult in need receive the right service, at the right time, and in the right setting.
LSF Health Systems provides a number of resources and tools for our service provider network and partners and consumers. Providers are encouraged to utilize our monitoring tools, contract documents, and training institute as resources to help them adequately serve people in need. Consumers have access to LSF Health System’s Ombudsmen, who serves as the liaison between individuals receiving services, providers, and other state/community entities.
Reporting Fraud, Waste and Abuse
LSF Health Systems (LSFHS) reviews and investigates all allegations of suspected and or confirmed fraud, waste and abuse; enforces the appropriate corrective actions to remedy any allegations; reports the confirmed fraud, waste and abuse to the appropriate authorities and ensures that all employees, network service providers and subcontractors comply with applicable federal, state, local, LSFHS and Department of Children and Families (DCF) contract requirements.
As a mental healthcare leader in the state of Florida, LSF Health Systems provides training opportunities for service providers and stakeholders within the 23-county Northeast and North Central Florida region. Through the LSF Health Systems Training Institute, Continuing Education (CE) credits are reported to the CE Broker and the Florida Certification Board in a variety of training areas.
LSF Health Systems works with community organizations to undertake various special projects that can help us understand important systemic issues that are tied to mental health and substance abuse, including child welfare, criminal justice, and care coordination. This helps ensure that we create a comprehensive and integrated system of behavioral healthcare for those most in need.
