“Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

The past year has been difficult, but I am encouraged by this quote that celebrates and promotes all we do at LSF.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave us the definition of greatness. He knew everyone could be great and it doesn’t require a degree, money or a family legacy.
So many of our team members and community partners give generously… and that shows greatness.
Diana Davila comes to mind, a counselor in SE Florida. The clients in her program come from low-income, poverty-stricken families who struggle to put food on the table. Diana generously gave anything she could spare to these families and then began a partnership with Feeding South Florida to open a food pantry within the program.
Today, the food pantry provides fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and dry/canned goods to 70-90 LSF clients a week!
Diana’s doing made a real difference to families we serve. And it’s just one of thousands of stories taking place every day that’s a testament to what is possible with a willingness to serve.
