AIDS Care & Education

Finding out that you have a chronic illness can be devastating and frightening. Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) seeks to support people living with HIV/AIDS to live a healthier and hope-filled future through our AIDS Care and Education program.

For some people, living with HIV and AIDS can be harrowing and even stigmatizing. Lutheran Services Florida’s Ryan White Program accompanies people in order to help improve the quality, availability and coordination of health care and support services. By eliminating barriers to healthcare services, the program seeks to prevent the isolation and hospitalization of people living with HIV and AIDS.

Florida has one of the highest rates of new HIV/AIDS infections in the country. LSF serves people of all ages  within Escambia, Walton, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties. LSF works with the Northwest Florida AIDS Consortium (NOFLAC) to distribute funding so that people can best access the program’s services. Caring and professional LSF staff work closely with community groups in an effort to help empower and provide educational opportunities both for people living with HIV and for people within the general public.

LSF’s Ryan White program assists people with the following:

  • Emergency Assistance
  • Housing Assistance
  • Nutrition Counseling
  • Transportation Assistance
  • Dental Care
  • Mental Health Assessment and Treatment
  • Medical Care
  • Case Management Services
