Representatives of top management and various programs of Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) met with CEO and President Samuel Sipes on July 1 to begin developing a five year strategic plan for the agency. The group set a goal of December to complete their work and deliver it to the LSF Board of Directors who will then issue a report on the plan in January 2009. Click here to read the story.
LSF CEO Calls for Refugee Advocacy About 140 people gathered at the University of South Florida (USF) on June 20 to commemorate World Refugee Day, designated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to honor refugees worldwide. The event was jointly sponsored by Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) and the USF International Affairs Department. LSF President and CEO Samuel Sipes kicked off the event's news conference by calling for public advocacy of refugees coming to the United States. Click here to read the story.
Honorees Range in Age from 16 to 99! Twenty seven volunteers from Miami-Dade area Lutheran Churches were honored by Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) at a Good Samaritan Dinner on June 1.
