The goal of LSF's Family

young children, and troubled adolescents are referred to LSF by Childnet and
the Broward Sheriff's office due to allegations of abuse or neglect.
Master's level professionals and trained staff provide a full range of
services including:
In-Home Counseling
Case Management
Family Reunification
Teaching Parenting Skills
Crisis Intervention/Referrals to
Community Resources
Available 24 Hours Every Day
Follow-up Services for One Year
The LSF Family Intervention Program
has been instrumental in stopping the cycle of abuse for many families.
Recent studies show that 83% of the families participating in Family
Intervention have no recurrence of abuse after one year.
Counseling and case management services assist participating families by
providing them with the skills, information, and support necessary to solve
their problems and build nurturing home environments promoting healthy
children.
LSF helps adolescents stay alive and out of the juvenile justice system
through its prevention and intervention activities. Recent studies have
shown an
82% success rate of youth returning home to their families to
rebuild their lives following their stay at LSF shelters. In addition to
providing temporary shelter, counseling, and case management services, LSF
is also a designated SAFE PLACE agency and, as such, serves as a partner
with local businesses and schools to help youth in trouble. Project SAFE
PLACE is a national network of voluntary community sites where youth in need
of help can go for safe refuge. LSF is the designated SAFE PLACE provider in
areas with LSF shelters.
