Certificates of Appreciation by the Florida Department of Health at their Annual
Child Care Food Program Conference held at the Clearwater Hilton on
April 29. The two certificates were awarded for "Most Meals Served in
2007" and "Excellent Nutrition Practices."

Head Start Celebrates Children's Week Last Month
The
175 children and 32 staff members of Lutheran Services Florida's P.E.P.P.I.
Head Start Child Development Center in Belle Glade celebrated Florida
Children's Week last month with activities that included a picnic and
Hanging of the Hands Project at local municipal centers. LSF/P.E.P.P.I.
also served as the Lead Facilitator for all of the Children's
Week Activities involving child care centers of the Glades.

Asylee & Family Helped with Multiple Resources
The Work of
LSF's Integration Assistance Services

Florida Case Manager Mai Parker has been working with a 44-year-old Haitian
asylee since
early October of last year. Although a complicated situation with many
aspects and problems to solve, Ms. Parker has been diligent in bringing
"Healing, Help and Hope" in concrete ways to this client and his family
through the work of LSF's Integration Assistance Services.
