TAMPA – Lutheran Services Florida refugee clients were among those who benefited from a local law firm’s charitable efforts.

The Guzman Law Group hosted its first “Back to School Drive” from August 5 to September 2. They invited the community to drop off supplies for students in need. Thanks to their efforts, local youngsters received backpacks, school supplies and other basic items to help them get ready for the classroom.

Children of LSF refugee clients were among those who came to the law offices at 8301 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa to pick up supplies from Attorney Edgar Guzman and his staff. More than 300 backpacks were available for students from elementary school to high school. Guzman is pictured here with some of the children who received backpacks and school supplies.

“You could see the joy on our clients’ faces when they picked up their school supplies,” said Arlene Zuniga, Employment Specialist at LSF. “We are so grateful to Edgar Guzman for his support of our clients and the entire community.”

Lutheran Services Florida is a statewide, nonprofit human services agency dedicated to helping all people in need regardless of religious affiliation, age or national origin. Headquartered in Tampa, the agency has more than 60 programs located throughout Florida. Since it was established in 1982, LSF has helped more than 850,000 children and families.
