Camps are now set for:
Aug. 9-13: Gulf Breeze Community Life Center, Gulf Breeze
Aug. 9-13: New World Believers Ministry, Pensacola
Aug. 16-20: St. Luke Methodist Church, Pensacola
To help children on Florida’s Gulf Coast deal with their emotions concerning
the oil spill, Lutheran Services Florida, in partnership with the Florida
Department of Children and Families and other local sponsors, is providing a
therapeutic camp experience.
Camp Beyond the Horizon will address the educational and emotional needs of
children affected by the disaster.
Camp Beyond the Horizon is specifically designed for children in grades
kindergarten through six. The camp allows children to process their
experiences and their grief in a safe, supportive, caring atmosphere that
also offers fun and recreation.
The week-long camps are being held in churches and community centers in the
affected areas.
There is no cost to families for children to participate.
Other camps will be scheduled based on need. Check back on this website for
updates.
Volunteer and staff opportunities are also available at each camp site.
For more information about volunteer and staff positions or to register your
child for camp, please contact LSF at 850-453-2772 or email
