Congregations Mark LSF Month in March

Lutheran congregations across Florida will observe Lutheran Services Florida Month in March.

Each church will set aside one Sunday in the month to recognize the work of the 60-plus ministries of LSF, ministries supported by the churches of the Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Together LSF and the churches help bring God’s healing, hope and help to those in need, from hungry children to homeless teens to victims of disasters such as the recent earthquake in Haiti. LSF ministries touched more than 35,000 people last year, and have helped more than 800,000 since it began in 1982. The agency, which began with just four programs and three employees, now has more than 60 social service programs and over 500 employees.

These include newsletter and bulletin announcements, bulletin inserts, litanies, posters, a Temple Talk PowerPoint presentation and sermon ideas. Through LSF’s Voices of Hope program, retired Lutheran pastors also share the story and work of LSF.
