LSF Receives 150 Coupons for Children's Shoes for Holidays

For Lippman Youth Shelter, Miami Supportive Housing

The Lippman Youth Shelter in Oakland Park and the Supportive Housing Program in Miami, both programs of Lutheran Services Florida (LSF), have received a donation of 150 gift coupons for children's shoes for the holidays from Payless ShoeSource.  Each coupon is worth $15 and is redeemable at any Payless store in the community.

The donation is part of the corporation's "Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids" program, an effort to deliver $1.2 million of free shoes to children of families in need during this holiday season in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Latin America.  LSF was one of 750 non-profits serving children of needy families that was chosen by Payless for the holiday program out of 2,800 who applied.

"We know that a great pair of shoes can lift spirits, bolster self confidence and bring a huge smile to a child’s face, especially when they get to pick the shoes out themselves," said Payless CEO LuAnn Via and Board Chair Matthew Rubel in the letter of award.  "Together [with your organization] we know what an amazing holiday gift this will be to so many families and children."

Payless is inviting feedback from nonprofit partners in the holiday shoe program and plans to share those responses on their website at www.paylessgives.com.
