LSF Joins Twitter to

Expand Communication

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) has become a member of the Twitter community as part of its expanding communications efforts.  The URL is www.twitter.com/LuthServFla.

Twitter is a "real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices," according to the information posted at its website.  The service began in 2006 and has expanded to a worldwide operation.

"Twitter will expand LSF's communication services to allow for instant communication via sms, web, mobile web, instant message, or third party API projects on news that is happening in our organization," said Thomas L. Weitzel of LSF Communications and Public Relations.

Twitter messages are limited to 140 characters for short and quick information-sharing.  Twitter serves as an expansion of social networking services with a focused purpose on instant messaging only.

Last month, LSF joined the Facebook community.  (To read the story, click here.)LSF's Facebook is also now linked to Twitter so that updates on Facebook will automatically be sent to Twitter.
