LSF Names David
Yarborough
as Vice
President of Operations
Will Take Up Post in
March

TAMPA,
FL -- Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) has announced that
David Yarborough of
Austin, TX has
accepted the position of Vice President of Operations for the organization.
He will take up his post at LSF Central Services in Tampa in early March.
Mr. Yarborough
comes to LSF after
serving 11 years as the Senior Vice President of Operations at
Lutheran Social
Services of the South (LSSS), based in Austin. That agency
provides children's services, elderly services, services to the poor and
disaster response in Texas, Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
"David is a skilled leader and is highly regarded within Lutheran social
ministry circles," stated Lutheran Services Florida President and CEO Sam
Sipes. "During his tenure at LSSS, David and his team grew the LSSS
foster care program from a handful of children to become the largest
provider in the state of Texas."
Among his other accomplishments, Mr. Yarborough was responsible for starting
the LSSS Russian adoption program, was the chair of the national Lutheran
Adoption Network, led LSSS through their initial
COA accreditation, established Trinity Charter Schools, has developed
affordable housing, and led the LSSS response to the devastating effects of
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
Prior to his involvement at Lutheran Social Services of the South, Mr.
Yarborough was an administrator at a large psychiatric residential treatment
center and a regional administrator for a national chain of substance abuse
facilities.
"David is a faithful, hard working, dedicated and competent leader," said
Mr. Sipes. "He understands the concept of team work and he has a heart
for social ministry."
David Yarborough holds an MBA from the University of Mississippi and is a
Licensed Child Care Administrator and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Lutheran Services Florida is a statewide,
social services organization with more than 60 programs located across the
state that assist at-risk children, the frail elderly, troubled youth and
families in crisis, refugees and immigrants, homeless families, and victims
of natural disasters. Since the agency was established more than 25
years ago, over 700,000 people have been served by LSF.
