LSF CEO Thanks
2008 Synod
Assembly for
Their Support
2 May 2008 - TW
Lutheran
Services Florida CEO and President Sam Sipes brought greetings to voting
members and guests of the Florida-Bahamas Synod Assembly on Fri., May 2 at
the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, thanking them for their support
of LSF's many ministries.
The Florida-Bahamas Synod is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America and is a partner with the Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran
Church Missouri Synod in providing funding and support for LSF.
"I have the best job in the Synod, because LSF is in the business of
answering prayers," said Sipes to the 700 voting members and guests gathered
for this annual event. "Every single day, people find their way to our
offices after having prayed for the very healing, help and hope that we
provide."
This was the first Synod Assembly that Sipes has attended since becoming CEO
and President last September.
The Synod Assembly is the highest legislative body of the Florida-Bahamas
Synod and is made up of pastors, rostered lay leaders and lay
representatives of the synod's 211 congregations. The Florida-Bahamas Synod
has about 82,500 baptized members.
In giving his thanks to
the assembly, Sipes also pointed out that LSF had served more than 62,000
individuals in 2007.
"It is a blessing to be able to serve the Lord in this way," said Sipes as
he concluded his brief remarks.
