Mission

In response to God’s love in Jesus Christ, Lutheran Services Florida, as an agent of its participating church bodies, serves to bring God’s healing, hope and help to people in need.


Vision

Lutheran Services Florida is a leader in the state of Florida in the provision of human services.

1. Our owners (judicatories and congregations) recognize us as their representatives in the provision of services in Christ’s name.

2. LSF will so exemplify the care and compassion of Christ that people will be drawn to follow our example as Christians and Servants.

3. The Board of LSF will be faithful to its calling by Christ to:

• Love our neighbor as ourselves,

• Go into all the world to make disciples, and

• Feed, clothe, and visit all those with whom our Lord sends us.
   

   4. LSF will focus on:

• Continuous improvement to provide quality service.

• Grow our revenue with the ability to self-fund the growth.

• Develop new services to meet client needs.

• Expand into areas of the state in which people are underserved either geographically or by the programs of any social service agency.

• Create an interesting, rewarding and caring place to work.
   

VALUES

1. LSF is an expression of God’s love in the world. It serves to bring God’s healing, hope and help to people in need.

2. As a social ministry of the Lutheran Church, LSF derives its basic values and commitments from a Biblical understanding of God’s creative and redemptive activity in Christ Jesus. Because of this, LSF seeks partnerships with congregations to serve people in need. LSF recognizes that no one agency or group can go it alone and seeks relationships with multiple faith-based organizations with similar missions.

3. LSF provides social services to all people without regard to race, age, sex, religion, marital status, national origin, veteran status, disability, handicap or any other legally protected status, and is privileged to be in partnership with governmental agencies and private sources in carrying out its mission.

4. LSF seeks staff members that are committed to serving others and are culturally competent.
